EVENT Christopher Street Day, Berlin
COOPERATION Official, recurring since 2016
PLACED On the mobile toilets, Straße des 17. Juni
VERSION Pure edition — the vibrating image, no text

Since 2016, CO-WC has taken part in Christopher Street Day Berlin again and again, in official cooperation with the organisers. The sign is placed on the mobile toilets set up along Straße des 17. Juni, where the parade passes. It has also travelled beyond Berlin — to CSD Frankfurt am Main.

Pride is the one setting where the sign stays entirely itself — every toilet at the event is for everyone, so nothing has to be added or explained. The vibrating image simply hangs on the door.

// HOW THE SIGN WAS HANDLED

Nothing was added. The sign hangs pure on every mobile toilet — no word, no second pictogram.

And it shows. Standing in front of the door, people would shift from side to side, looking for the familiar male or female figure that gives the go-ahead — and find an image that keeps moving with them. The sign does not resolve. The body answers before the mind does.
